Clinical depression.



Everybody feels depressed sometimes in response to situations around us caused by a variety of factors, like environmental, psychological and so on.
But when depression lingers on for a long time and interferes with everyday life, it becomes a serious clinical illness which can cause life-threatening complications.

Clinical depression is a mood disorder that causes persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. It affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. Clinical depression may make you feel as if life isn’t worth living. This is why some people contemplate suicide after a long battle with depression.

Clinical depression usually starts between the ages 15 and 30, and is much more common in women. Women can also get postpartum depression after the birth of a baby.

Symptoms of clinical depression include:
Feeling of sadness, emptiness or unhappiness, angry outburst, frustration over small matters, loss of interest or pleasure in normal activities such as sex, headaches, sleep disturbances, tiredness, weight changes, anxiety, slowed thinking, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempt.

Clinical depression is caused by many factors like traumatic events such as the death of a loved one, financial problems, and hormonal changes which results from menopause and other conditions etc.

It’s very important to visit your doctor if you suffer from this condition. This condition can be treated with medications and psychological counseling.
